Home Visits

Home visits are performed by the doctors on medical grounds only, i.e. they are intended for the genuinely bed bound, terminally ill or very elderly.

The nature of home visiting is such that under normal circumstances attending the surgery with an emergency/urgent appointment will provide a quicker response and higher quality of care.

Home visit requests must be made as early as possible by telephoning the surgery on 01628 622023.

There may be a considerable delay responding to visit requests received after 12:00.

Please ensure your home can be easily identified from the road, (e.g.) house name/ number and is safe (e.g.) dogs shut away etc. (Dogs often misinterpret examination as an attack on their owner and therefore must be in a separate room).

You can also be visited at home by a district nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
